Benching and Structures
In the cannabis cultivation market, there are two main types of growing systems: single tier and multi-tier. Here’s a brief explanation of each:
Single Tier Growing System:
A single-tier growing system consists of one level or floor of growing space. This system is typically used in larger grow operations where plants are grown in rows or on benches. The plants are spaced out to allow for optimal light penetration and air circulation. Single-tier systems are typically easier to manage and maintain compared to multi-tier systems.
Multi-Tier Growing System:
A multi-tier growing system is a vertical system that consists of multiple levels or floors of growing space. This system is designed to maximize the use of space by growing plants in a stacked configuration. The plants are grown on shelves or racks, and each level is equipped with its own lighting and ventilation system. This allows growers to maximize their yield per square foot of space. Multi-tier systems are ideal for smaller grow operations or those with limited space
Within these two main types of growing systems, there are also different variations and configurations, such as:
- Single-Tier Vertical: A vertical system where plants are grown in a stacked configuration, but only on a single level or floor.
- Double-Deck Single-Tier: A single-tier system with two levels or floors of growing space.
- Stacked Multi-Tier: A multi-tier system where plants are grown on shelves or racks in a vertical configuration.
Overall, the choice between a single-tier or multi-tier growing system will depend on the specific needs and goals of the grower, as well as the amount of space and resources available. Each system has its own benefits and drawbacks, and growers should carefully consider their options before making a decision.
